I have never been to Warwick, but if it's anything like other unis you'll find a real mix of people, including some that will be posh, but there'll be far more 'normal' people

No, I don't think so. I've been in a state school all my life and haven't noticed overbearing "poshness" :p:. Then again, I found that even in Cambridge only small enclaves of crazy students were too posh.

There are a few of them, I'm sure. But I can't say I know many.

Admittedly my experience will have been skewed by living in one of the cheapest halls of residence, but none of the UK students in my kitchen had been to private school.

I think the majority people at Warwick are fairly middle class, but not especially posh. But there are plenty of people who don't fit into that generalisation.

And with a course like maths and physics, I reckon you'll be sorted, you usually (in my experience) get the posher folk on courses like economics. *waits for the neg rep*

Warwick Maths is much posher than Warwick Physics, but isn't all that bad :p:

yay, generally a positive response then, i don't know why i got the impression that warwick had loads of posh people!?!

I think I may have heard it on tsr or something, probably from a troll like Rei.

lol.

Statistically speaking there will be hot guys.

And lol@ this thread. In my flat 3 of the people here went to GOOD schools. It's a good university so there are a lot of people from GOOD schools.

But don't let this dishearten you, it will NEVER come up, like once maybe in freshers after that. It just doesn't matter, you all go to the same University now anyways...

Well, I went to a state school in a rough area and I have noticed that Warwick is skewed towards the middle class, at least in the students' mannerisms. This can be somewhat disconcerting, however, it's far from the "posh" you fear. Personally, I've not encountered more than a couple of people who are like that at Warwick.

I've spent quite a lot of time at different unis, and I can pretty guarantee that Warwick is nowhere near as posh as: Durham, Bristol, Exeter, LSE, UCL, Oxford and Cambridge. I've read somewhere that Warwick has the lowest private school intake of the "top 10" universities.
Raaaaahhhhssss!

There will be a reasonably high of number of Oxbridge rejects. A higher proportion of private school kids than the average. However that really means nothing, there will be some decent people, some dick-heads...

Fair enough. Warwick is dick-head free.

(also I'm impressed dick-head isn't swear filtered)
