Kings versus Royal Holloway

I have offers from both universities for Classical Studies. On paper, I thought that I would definitely choose Kings as my firm and RH as my insurance. However, having attended open day events at both universities, I now prefer RH. Would it be mad to choose RH when Kings is considered a more prestigious university?

Does any one have any insider information on classical studies at either of them to help me decide?

Thank you!

Honestly I'd go for the one you prefer. Supposed "prestige" doesn't make a huge difference in cases like these.

I met a young lady who came from a very prestigious private school background, and she visited UCL, KCL and RHUL, and ended up firming the latter because she preferred the campus set up there. There is no right or wrong answer in these situations, and you have to go by what is important to you. KCL is more prestigious than RHUL, but then RHUL is still a traditional uni, and also part of the Uni of London. If you want a career in Law, Investment Banking, Management Consultancy, Accounting (Big 4), academia (top 25-30 UK unis) or other such competitive careers where uni rep matters a lot, then go with KCL. If not, then go with RHUL, as it is a beautiful place to spend 3 academic years at. You can still do a masters later elsewhere if you wanted, although employers and academics look much more at your first degree.
