this is the data im meant to use, im meant to use excel. tysm!
I understand this is a lot, but simply telling me what statistical test I should use for the questions is all I need! Thank you!
Table 1: Datasets on cobra fang size.
Subgroup Number of Individuals Sampled (n)
A – Northern Province 510
B – Eastern Province 506
C – Western Province 497
D- Southern Province (Chemical Plant) 527
PART A: TESTING FOR DIFFERENCES
Use the data from the worksheet “Fang Length” for this part. You must decide which tests are
appropriate to address the task at hand.
1. Produce a frequency polygon for each sub group on the same axes. (6 marks)
2. Test for difference between the datasets at 0.01 level of significance. (10 marks)
3. Establish which dataset is different from the others at the 0.01 level of significance. (18 marks)
PART B: CORRELATION/REGRESSION
Use the data from the worksheet “Tissue Samples” for this part. You must decide which tests are
appropriate to address the task at hand.
1. Provide a scatter plot of potassium benzoate concentrations vs. fang length for each subgroup.
Calculate the correlation coefficient (r) for each. (8 marks)
2. If any of the correlations are strong, use linear regression to create a numerical model linking
potassium benzoate concentrations to fang length. Be sure to include the r-squared value and
the standard error. Reproduce the scatter plot for these data and add the regression line to this.
(6 marks)
3. If a snake from subgroup D has a potassium benzoate concentration of 10.5 ppm, what is the
estimate of its fang length at the 0.05 level of significance? (2 marks)
