The Student Room Group

University of London LLB or University of Law LLB

I'm wondering about which one of these programs is better for distance learning and reputation. I've read the University of Law is much better for getting matched up for solicitor training. I've also read that the University of Law has higher student satisfaction rates.

I'm not from the UK and want to know what lawyers or people studying law think of this.

Does anyone have any advice on this topic?

Any stats you see about the university of law are highly inflated, but tbh none of the distance learning LLB programmes are particularly prestigious.

The University of Law is a low quality qualifications mill with a big marketing profile. One of its marketing bots or shills may arrive on this thread and give you the usual spiel, but you'd be better off studying for a London degree.

Hello there!

I am studying law at University of Law for my postgraduate degree, so I am hoping I can help out with this!

You are right University of Law has very close connections with the law firms in the cities that they are located in. I am in Leeds and the University has career fairs with the top law firms in Leeds very regularly. There are talks held, trainee's who attend and a lot of opportunities to get involved in this.

I would strongly recommend looking into the virtual open days and in person open days as well. They give you a lot of details. They have a very strong and amazing programme for trainee solicitor ship in the UK.

I am also an international student, so I understand your concerns. There is a very nice and supportive international team that helps students with the visa applications and all related matters.

There is a great sense of community and you will always enjoy your time there. The University is expanding and they provide a lot of volunteering opportunities for students in law courses. I have myself been involved in about 3-4 volunteering programmes in just 6 months. I enjoy my time and opportunities a lot, so this is my personal experience.

Hope you find this useful!
