I was also admitted to 1st faculty for both medicine and dentistry... I chose dentistry. I'm definitely going there, it's incredible from what I've heard from my friends studying there. It's super affordable, highly reputed and in a beautiful city. It's been my dream since GCSE, definitely look into it.

I would choose Poland over Hungary and Czech Republic. The environment in general is the best for foreigners among the three countries. What universities in Poland you have applied for?

same, I've got offers from the first and second faculty at Charles University. I applied to polish universities as well, Jagiellonian University, Warsaw, and gdansk. i have exams for Jagiellonian in a few days. I'm torn about which one to choose.

Good luck. The schools in Warsaw and Krakow (Jagiellonian) are the best. You need to consider the life quality. Gdansk is not bad at all, but more of a tourist town. Big cities have more international students and more resources. That is why you need to study there. I heard that it is a little hard to graduate from Charles University. It does not mean they have higher standard. I know some students transferring out from there. Warsaw > Krakow > Gdansk >>> Charles University in Prague This is my ranking.

I would say it is because of higher passing mark and standard, but this does not mean the schools are better. Keep this in mind. English is not their first language, so class efficiency can never be like in any English-speaking countries. A lot of time will be wasted by this language-barrier. Therefore, I do think it is necessary for school to lower the standard for students in English programs because international students got less support from schools. In fact, many schools do. However, not if the schools are well-known. They have too many students that they cannot pass all of them due to the capacity. They get as many students as possible to get more money and then select out students later. Charles University is not the only one. There are a few.

oh wow. can I get other examples of schools like this? By the way, I just took the Jagiellonian university entrance exam, and mehn...it wasn't easy but it wasn't impossible either. I've applied to Gdansk and Warsaw too. I'll sit the Warsaw exam on 2nd July and I feel like Warsaw is the place for me tbh . i prefer the city more than krakow. I really liked Charles because it's in a good city but ill choose the quality of education over anything else.

Sorry. I just saw this. The schools that you are applying are ok. No worries. Another example is University of Debrecen Medical School. I totally agree with you. I think Warsaw is a better environment for international students.

I applied through the medical doorway so they're the ones doing the majority of the paperwork. I don't think I need a visa to study because I'm EU (Irish). may I ask your nationality? Also, the idea that tuition fees cant be paid in two installments is off-putting to me? like money doesn't grow from trees. By the way, how do you plan on funding your studies in both Poland and Czech? does anyone know if they offer any form of scholarship?

You cannot transfer out. Due to many reasons, usually students start over if they cannot make it. In Polish medical universities, there are always some new students that studied medicine in another country before. Most of them are doing ok now. I don't know how many students drop out there, but Charles University is one of the schools I heard has this situation.

The big problem with medicine at Charles (and most of the rest of Europe) for Brits is that it is a six year course, which precludes joining the post-degree foundation programme at the beginning of year one. Places in year two are vanishingly rare. Without doing the foundation programme it is very difficult to join post-graduate training later.
