References from SSCL

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive a reference from SSCL ? I have a new job. However , I worked at the prison two years ago and my new job asked why I left told them was not me for me . They are now asking for a reference. I have filled out a reference request form ? However the new employment are asking for a time period ?

Do you remember how long it took? I am at the same position right now. I didn't know it could take up to 21 working days, so I'm a bit freaking out...
