2009 BPhO - Paper 2

I got a gold.. but my school haven't found out yet, (or at least havent told me) and I was never invited to round 3..?

I got a gold too! The stuff on the website about it is wrong mostly, my teacher gave me a letter about it. If you get a gold you're into BPO3 and we do some practice BPO2/3 questions and get them marked in preparation. The exam is around February 23rd so you haven't missed it, they're just useless and disorganized. Don't worry, it's all in the letter your teacher has!

I wonder how many people who sat this paper did not apply to oxbridge? I didnt xD

Do we find out our mark / overall rank? I have a strong suspicion I got 75/100
Is the exam sat somewhere centrally, or at school?

i just had a look at a BPO 3 paper today... My oxford educated physics teacher was intimidated, I'm screwed!

Honestly, what marks do they expect people to get on these things? They're insane and you have to do all the questions they set so I can't just pick out the mechanics stuff like I did in BPO 2 That's the only reason I managed to do well.

I've got to agree with you - and the lack of markschemes don't help, how are we supposed to know what they consider an acceptable answer?
I did exactly the same as you, picking mechanics questions and avoiding electricity

Do you think its worth starting a new thread to try and attract people that have done paper 3 and know something about it / or just people good at physics that can help us with questions!
