Hi
I been allocated University (Castle) to do English Literature. Just wondering how many freshers get allocated Bailey Court, Moatside, Owengate or Castle Walls? What is the likelihood of sharing and I read somewhere that if you can't stand sharing, you can swop to a single room after the first term? Is that still the case?

Hi,
The largest proportion of students are allocated Moatside (which are nearly all single rooms with shared bathrooms) then the rest are divided between Bailey Court, Castle and Owengate. Owengate has the least amount of rooms available as they are spread out between a handful of houses.
Once you are allocated a room it’s difficult to swap unless you have an exceptional reason. They may agree if you are able to find someone who is willing to do a direct swap with you, but you would both have to apply and put forward a good case.
