Hi, I was wondering if you could give me a rough idea of what the weekly schedule would look like for your social work degree?
There was a part time course that I applied for and it was withdrawn which was very disappointing as I completed qualifications in order to apply for the course :frown: thanks

Hi @Caseyh
I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with the removal of the part-time course.

I'll do my best to share with you the weekly schedule of the full-time social work degree

In the first year of the full-time Social Work course, each week consists of up to 1 and a half days of work. In the second and third years, there are placements (70-day blocks in 2nd year and 100-day blocks in 3rd year) on top of the day and a half work. This happens in all Social Work courses across England whether they’re part or full-time, so hopefully that's good news for you?

For any further questions you can contact Sarah, the course leader, directly by emailing [email protected] or you can come along to our Open Day in Peterborough on Saturday 11th June where you can speak to Sarah face-to-face.

Hopefully we see you soon!

Best wishes
Matt

Hi @zeaseaOur course portfolio is definitely set to grow and so is our Degree Apprenticeship portfolio. We are also looking at postgraduate courses too.

ARU Peterborough has some courses that are unique to ARU Peterborough and some that are also at other campuses - it is most set by what the area demands and what regional employers are looking for - we want you to graduate and have plenty of job opportunities and the skills that employers really want.

Is there a specific course you would like to see ARU Peterborough offer? Let us know! We'd love your thoughts.

Best,
Megan

Hello, thanks for the response - I'm particularly interested in the BSc Software Engineering course that's currently only available at the Cambridge campus. The Peterborough campus opening is very exciting to me as it gives me an option that's close enough to commute to from home, and I'd love to be able to consider it when it's time for me to apply to universities.

Thanks @zeasea I'll make sure I feed it back to the executive group - that's so helpful.

I know at the moment we offer Applied Computer Science which does have modules in Software Principles and Software Engineering so I am sure the team will have the skills to branch out in this direction if it can become an option. It might just be worth considering whether the degree we already have on offer would give you the chance to diversify your skills and bring with it a wide choice of career options when you graduate.

I will definitely let the team know and hopefully we will see you at an Open Day one day in the future. We're hosting a Family Fun day today at University House, Bishops Road, Peterborough PE1 5BW, where you're welcome to come down and say hi, if you are local

Have a great weekend!

Megan
