Just out of interest. I'll see (and have been guilty of too) 7, maybe even 8 year old threads that still get replies even after the OP is long inactive.
It's funny but also a bit odd to me, so why?

They tend to pop up in the related discussions at the bottom of each page, it's nearly caught me out a few times too. Also I guess you'll get some people searching things on Google, coming across really old threads on similar issues, and replying to them without realising.

Sometimes the TSR feed goes wrong and brings up an old thread.
Occassionally people search through old threads and then add a comment that bumps thems into TSR or the notifications of some of the users that originally posted on the thread.
