why do some people show on the snap map very randomly on some days, but then disappear off it for ages whilst others are there all the time?

1. Could be as you said they turned it off
2. They are just not online, Snapchat automatically makes the person hidden from snap map if they have not been online for 8 hours+
3. Could be a bug
