I have this obsessive online friend that won’t take the hint that I don’t want to be friends anymore but I want to end the friendship gracefully.

I wouldn't instantly ghost the person as it may hurt their feelings but I would slowly begin spending less time with them until they get the hint

yea i agree, im sure by lowering the amount of things that would bring you two together like if it is a game then stop playing it so he has less reason to message you.
