Is everyone revising only the advanced information topics?
No as in some subjects, information that hasn't been listed is still contextually useful. For example history, you might not be asked about xyz in a certain period but it might provide context to a question on xyz in another period. But definitely in the days before an exam it makes sense to focus on that material given.
