Hi all, I am thinking of hiring a careers coach as I am considering a career change. Has anyone else used a careers coach and were they effective?

I've been using one recently, they've been super helpful in showing new career path ideas for me based on my qualifications, and opened a few new doors for me with job fairs and such for local employers. Got a few in-person interviews out of that so was pretty good.
I'd say go for it, won't cause much harm and a fresh perspective on your path choices can be eye opening. I suppose it depends on a few things though, like how much their services cost lol.
Good luck with your career hunting

I would definitely agree with this, having a career mentor can be incredibly useful as they can provide advice and information that you may not have thought of!
I used one fairly recently and they were able to help me reassess my position and aims and found a job that I am now happy at.
Best of luck with your job search!
