# More Projectiles help needed - with a lot more to come! watch

1. Romeo is trying to attract Juliets attention without her nurse, who is in a downstairs room, noticing. He stands 10m from the house and lobs a small pebble at her bedroom window. He throws it from a height of 1m with a speed of 11.5 ms-1 at an angle of 60 degrees to the horizontal.

From answers to previous questions I have worked out correctly that:

Time taken to to reach the house is 1.739 seconds
The pebble travels a vertical distance of 3.5m

These were calculated using:

horizontal initial velocity as 11.5cos60
vertical intial velocity as 11.5sin60

My question is how do I find out the horizontal and vertical velocitys in order to find the speed on impactof hitting the house?
2. Is this from M2?

Is this from M2?
No Mechanics 1 - its OCR MEI
4. The horizontal component of the velocity is unchanged because there is no acceleration in the horizontal direction. The final vertical velocity can be found using v=u+at (using your "proper" variables )

Well, we like to keep things simple over here lol.
I got the right answer, thanks for that. I said before I really just need things spelling out to me.
6. Glad to be a help
