Umm i was wondering about a few things..

Just out of interest whats the ratio between public school students and state school ones? (im under the impression most private schoolers go to Durham, Exter, Oxbridge)

Also the competition/ rivalry with other London Universities?

And general nightlife atmosphere around the place?

    Thanks guys Kam.

The former Rector once said "40% of Imperial students come from just 7% of schools" (might not be verbatim :p:). There is a pretty high proportion of public school students at Imperial, but I don't see why that should matter in any way.

There's really not that much rivalry, we know we're better than all the others. Unless you're on a sports team, the most rivalry is checking whether LSE are higher on the league tables each year, but nobody really cares :p:

In the immediate area around Imperial (South Kensington) there's nothing in terms of nightlife, but that said, it is London. From outside the Albert Hall, you can get the number 9 bus which takes you to Leicester Square/Piccadilly Circus/China Town. There are plenty of pubs and such around, whatever halls you stay in.

EDIT: Yep, ~60% of IC students are from state schools/colleges. But it is the Guardian....
