Help me please as I am really confused. I have received a conditional offer from a Uni requiring me to achieve 240 points. When I read the blurb about the course it stated that a typical offer was 200 points. I have been ill recently and whilst 240 points is still achievable provided I catch up with the mountain of work I have, I would have felt far more comfortable with a 200 point offer. Are offers calculated on predicted grades ?? If so why the heck didn't my senior tutor reduce my predicted grades in view of my illness ??

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Erm...because that would have harmed your chances of getting into uni? If the teacher thinks you're going to achieve CCC, then they'll predict CCC (or sometimes slightly above, if they still think it's achievable). The will not predict you CCD-CDD.

A typical offer is just that, a typical offer. So if it's 200 points they don't always offer 200 points. There can be a number of reason why were you giving an offer higher than the typical offer. Your mixture of subjects, the overall quality of your application etc.

Are you sure the typical offer is 200 points? Which uni and course is this?

    Hi

Thanks for your reply. I have applied at Teesside to do Criminology. My predicted grades at A2 are ABC but i don't think this is realistic as I have already missed 5 weeks of the A2 course.
