I was just wondering if you’re allowed to smile in the student ID photo they ask for when you make your accommodation account even though it says ‘passport style’? Some places are strict with that but others aren’t. Are we allowed to smile?

I thought my uni was going to be strict on it so I took a passport style one as they said it should be similar to that but loads of the people in my accommodation had ones where they were smiling, one guy even used a photo of him in his car.
