You got to work with them to pick the degree + uni that best fitted what you wanted out of the apprenticeship. There was no set uni/course when I applied. :smile:

My application was just my CV which had a few leadership things on there, some project work I did designing a website and some other things I did with school but nothing too out of the ordinary.
The degrees offered were all going to be engineering (electromechanical, civil etc) so not data science.
As I turned down the offer I never got to negotiating the salary.

I was the first year so they opened late (Jan/Feb if I remember right) but they might open earlier this year if they are still running the program.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you turn it down? I am currently on the fence between doing a degree apprenticeship in tech and going to uni to get a degree in computer science and i wanted to know if there were any downsides to doing a degree apprenticeship that may have deterred you from doing that apprenticeship n going uni instead?

I can answer that question for you as I am a degree apprentice in DTS and have a deferred entry at UoB for computer science. I would say that an apprenticeship is good if you want to do something that is much more practical than theoretical. An apprenticeship will give you much better opportunities to develop soft skills, whereas uni would let you better develop technical skills. One thing that I am missing out on is all the fun at uni, for example, I would have loved to join societies and be able to make friends there. Dm me if you wanna talk more about this topic
