when there is something about to happen e.g an exam or going somewhere heart beat gets faster and have the feeling of being scared and then whilst the event is happening the heart beat goes back to normal this has been happening, to me is it normal?

It happens all the time for me. I try taking deep breaths. Try the 4-7-8 Breathing technique. Keeping time helps me relax and take my mind off the event.
