I did j+h in year 9 so some of these points might be slightly off but I hope there helpful:

He's portrayed as the epitome of the victorian gentleman - he's respectable and rational

He's in the best position to investigate the case since he is in a central position in the social circle

we experience the novel from his perspective - we are exposed to his opinions - reliable narrator

trustworthy and loyal - strong friendship with Jekyll

He's curious - attempts to figure out the case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

tends to speak the truth - expresses his honest feelings

Quotes for him:

A rugged countenance that was never lighted by a smile

If he be Mr Hyde... I shall be Mr Seek

The last good influence in the lives of down-going men

I shall consider it my duty to break in that door

I felt bound to do as he requested
