I have a friend i am close to. I want to speak to them about something sensitive but they've been in this situation with another friend before and it kind of traumatised them. I really need their advice but i don't want to do this to them. They dont deserve it.
Im not sure what to do so any advice would really help. Thanks

Hi there.

Perhaps ask your friend if you could ask for advice on this particular topic but also say to them that you'd understand if they didn't want to advise you so they're less likely to feel pushed into the situation. Whatever your friend decides, it's important to respect their choice so it doesn't damage your relationship.

Hope this makes sense.
Take care and best wishes.

Thank you, this is really helpful.
I've spoken to them about opening up more without crossing boundaries. They're the type of person to not turn others down even when they don't feel like speaking. This is why i always hesitate when i do feel like reaching out. On top of that, this is a topic i'd rather not bring up again with them.
