i took a look at the code of esp32 cam today (in c / c++ )

i only check a few files and i already feel like giving up. I could not understand much of it

interesting thing is i also felt the same way when i started learning web programming. I even give up a few times.

Is embedded system programming innately more difficult than web programming or am i just going through the normal process of learning a completely new skill

Not innately. Obviously it's easier to make a little Arduino weather station thing than something like Google Sheets, for example. The rise of the webapp and frameworks like Electron and React Native mean 'web programming' can encompass pretty much any kind of software you can think of - and WASM is pushing the boundaries of what is possible on the front-end (just look at Figma, for example). That said most webdev projects are gonna be pretty similar at their core... UI layer, REST, CRUD, CRMs, etc. Honestly for most people the hardest (and most frustrating) part of web dev is probably keeping up with trends and having to learn to use millions of complex tools, frameworks and libraries just to do some pretty basic things.
