We were told today that they'll email all at the end of the month or even early May (cos of all the holidays coming).
Cool, I wasn't shortlisted (though I know I made the reserve lists - somehow that seems worse?) but I know they've made their decisions in the disciplines that interviewed last week!

Good luck for Wednesday. I met a guy today who interviewed for vascular science and also have a audiology assessment centre on Wednesday. He'll definitely have an advantage on the stations not directly linked to a specialism questions...

Today was really tough! and we were told that we (vascular science) are only interviewing for 11 posts....only 11 nationally! Thats crap.
Thank you! I'm so scared! I may have to try and befriend this guy and ask some sneaky questions

Eeep, well I'm sure if you found it hard everyone else did too. That does sound like quite a small number but someone's got to be in that 11 and could just as easily be you I think the audiology intake is fairly small too.. but I'm trying not to think about that too much! Good luck!

If that makes you feel better, clinical engineering only had 7 posts nationally (well, in England that is)

    I was wondering..
In the blurb it says each station will ask two questions and will last 10 minutes (I think).. So should each answer last 5 minutes or will each question be comprised of a few mini questions? I probably wouldn't have any trouble talking for this long, as I'm a bit of a rambler, but I've been told the general rule of thumb for interviews is 2 mins max? Would anyone who's already had their interview be able to shed a little light on the matter? (I don't want to over or under talk!)

There aren't 2 questions, there are two interviewers at each station

Spend a lot of time in NHS labs. Makes it easy.

They could ask any amount of questions per station..it all depends on your replies and they may prod on some answers if they want more info. Anyway, I finished under 10 mins on two of my stations and went right to the end on the others....

Good luck and hope you get through...I'm glad mine is over...I even had a dream about it all last night!

    Hi everyone,

Well I just got back from my interview...MAN that was intense!! I fail to see how I even got an interview as there were so many talented people there with way more relevant experience and qualifications than me. Don't rate my chances of a job! But it's been a good experience

At least we have the Easter break to enjoy while we all wait for the outcome!

You're not alone! I felt I had little hope of getting in after the interview too. Everyone seemed to have done at least a masters and I felt I came across as pretty clueless in the interview. But, hey, maybe they will want someone like me for reasons I cannot fathom, maybe the people who seemed confident and experienced said something more stupid than anything I said. There's no way to know until they get back to us so just try to forget about it enough to not worry but still check your emails every day :P

Crazy hey..its less than 200 more like 167 (this recruitment drive) and 25 (in-service route).

Some of my questions and answers are playing back in my mind even though its been a day ago....especially the questions I struggled with.

I hope you're not serious I have another offer (for a general Graduate Scheme which I'm not overly keen on joining) and I've managed to negotiate for them to wait for my answer till end of April (as this is when NHS were supposed to get back to people)! And now it's suddenly MAY? Well, I still hope people will start hearing back in weeks time!

It all depends how quickly they can get the admin sorted...they told us yesterday that with all the holidays coming up and people going away etc. that they'll try for the 28th April, BUT it may be that we'll have to wait til beginning of May.

Ooh, hello! Our paths may have crossed this very day!

It was scary wasn't it?! I keep thinking about it, wondering what I did well and what I did not so well...argh! I wonder which station you struggled with..? I'm aching to discuss things but as Venividivici said we might all be back on here next year and I don't want to give new applicants an advantage

    Good luck anyway! x

I didn't think of this! Even after all interviews are over maybe we should keep quiet in case we are back next year.
