I am half way through the application for this programme online. In the application they want to know which area of PwC I am interested in. Ideally I would want to go into Corporate Finance; however I am aware that this arm of PwC has been affected by the credit crunch... This may be a silly question but,

Would the fact that they are not recruiting in this division this year have any impact on me securing a first year intern on the insight academy programme, since my application will be geared towards me wanting to go into corporate finance?

I hope that makes sense :p:

I'm a bit confused by this bit since the Insight Academy and Insight Internships are two different programmes, one a one-week programme for first years, and the other a 8-week placement for second years. (Apologies if you already know this!)

Anyway, if you just mean securing a place on the Academy programme I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference since you don't go anywhere near a PwC office (You'll spend the week at Latimer House I believe) and you don't apply for a particular line of service. I think they're just asking you about your interests so they know you've thought about it and researched the options.

If you do well at the academy and they then fast track you through the internship app process then I'm sure they would let you apply for something else if there aren't (m)any corporate finance vacancies. I'm sure you could ask the recruiters' advice about internships as there are bound to be plenty at the Academy.

Does anyone know the application process for the INSIGHT ACADEMY? I THINK ITS DIFFERENT TO THE REST?
