My ex has issues with running and hurting people as a defence mechanism- demonstrated by things he did to me during our relationship, such as walking out on me, saying hurtful things so i'd hate him etc.

He's seeing a professional about this, however he wants me to write down what he did to me as he's finding it hard to convey this to his counsellor...as what he did was on auto-pilot and he can't see the behaviours that were of concern

I'm finding it really hard to do..I don't know why but i'm very reluctant to it, and just finding it hard to write down. I'm worried he's going to read it and think bad of me..and i'd rather talk to him about it, and write it WITH him.

Is this a normal reaction to reliving a lot of hard memories, or do you think its better to write it with him?
