Hello users of the student room, I have a bit of an S1 problem here :/.

Basically I'm re-taking my S1 exam, which I did last year, and I can't seem to remember how to do standard deviation with the calculator!

What makes it worse is that I've lost most of my notes, so if anyone can help me out there, that would be fantastic .

    P.S. my calculator is a Casio fx-83MS.

I thought you had to show all working out anyway, so it'd make sense to just do the calculation manually?
Sorry I can't remember how to do it either - maybe ask around to see if anyone has the same calc as you, in your school or whatever?

Firstly, go to the table option.

You can enter all your data, and then press shift, and 1, which brings up a stats menu, and from here you can select the standard deviation.

    -goto SD mode
    -clear stat memory
-enter values and store them by pressing M+ after entering each value
-to find SD, press shift,2,2 and that gives you SD
