Yeah ok I would agree with that, I just thought that it would be unlikely that the OP would know he's a paedo unless he's been caught either molesting children or watching CP? Hm maybe the OP will tell us how she knows he is a paedophile..
I can't see a problem with someone watching child porn either - he has a right to masturbate, and it's probably keeping him going so he doesn't need to molest children himself.

This reminds me of that brasseye: "...whilst crimes we know nothing about are spiraling out of control".
hehe such a wonderful and entertaining show....

That's interesting, what paedophile signals did he give off?
"Online paedophiles can actually make your keyboard release toxic vapours that make you suggestible. (sniffs keyboard) You know I must say I actually feel more suggestible and that's just from one sniff."

"Genetically, paedopiles have more genes in common with crabs than they do with you and me. Now that is scientific fact. There's no real evidence for it, but it's scientific fact."

Not to be picky, but what about the kids exploited to make the child porn? There is also the slippery slope argument.

I don't understand the need to damn paedophiles. He may have abused children in the past, it doesn't mean he's still doing it. How will they reintegrate with people reminding them of what they've done?

    I'M TALKING NONCE SENSE.

I agree on the first point, but as to the second - it's called the slippery slope fallacy for a reason :p:

It's obviously a crime to make it and the police can work on that but why stop people watching what's already there?

Oh don't be so ridiculous, of course he shouldn't be allowed to watch videos of children getting raped. Take a moment to consider what it would be like to grow up and live your life with the knowledge that every day there are people masturbating to and getting pleasure from watching you being abused. He can masturbate without videos, sure, but it's horrendous to put a paedo's desire for CP ahead of the victims.

Hmm fair point but what about the argument that says that the demand for child porn encourages the making of it?

People should have to make do with what's there and create their own artwork etc.

Hmm, I'm not convinced, people will do horrendous things for money (the creators) e.g some (those demanding child porn) may feel that 'artwork' is not enough to satisfy their needs and therefore will want more.

    It's River, dear.

The guy's dead. Even if he did post any danger (and it's not necessarily the case he did) he certainly will not anymore.

The OP still hasn't told us her she knows is was a convicted paedohpile.
Well I think his carer told my neighbour who rushed him to hospital.
I don't personally feel this will hurt my neighbours business but she does, (she's self employed too).

I don't usually get worked up over things like this and can see he's no longer a threat. However I am pissed that the council did not divulge the information to us and secondly that he was placed in a close vicinity to children.

He should not be treated like a prisoner, but it's pretty reckless anyhow. It just freaks me out that he was just released from prison and then placed in a residential area close to three schools and a childminder.

I'm fairly sure that his carer has broken the law and deserves to lose his/her job, in that case.

You've been called up on the slippery slope fallacy once already.

I know lol... I didn't mean that, I meant that perhaps those seeking out child porn don't find the type of child porn to 'satisfy' them (e.g. as Yuffie said, they'll just have to make do with 'artwork'), people who are motivated by money in a disgusting way may see this as an opportunity to exploit children.

Where did that last bit come from? Nobody said anything about putting his rights above the victims.

I mean, the whole 'I knew there was something odd about him' sounds like an accusation of witchcraft from the 17th century.
Yeah thats true, but one of my best friends used to live next door to a paedophile (her parents only told her when she was alot older obviously), and she was good friends with his little girl the same age, she'd always get invited round but she said for some reason she felt scared of the place so only went in a couple of times. So maybe sometimes kids have an instinct.
Her parents later told her that when the neighbours moved away it was because the dad was convicted of molesting one of the little girl's friends.

    A 'paedophile instinct'...
