I'm living off my loan. My rent, catered food & mobile phone bills are all paid by my parents.

So I use my loan for everything else... weekend food (i'm self-catered at the weekends), going out, transport, clothes, extras, etc.

I'm not sure how much I should be restricting myself to? Should I try save some of my loan for next semester? I don't really know. I'm currently spending about £80 a week

About the same amount as you. Usually about 80 quid.. Sometimes more, sometimes a bit less.

Well if you had no rent or bills and not much food to buy then I'd think you were spending more than I'd like but then again I'm a tight ***** and love saving! :p: Maybe try and save some as you don't seem to be struggling for cash at the mo. I always found it handy to have a bit of backup money.

Well, I live at home so I don't have to worry about rent, bills etc. I spend a minimum of £10 a week, for lunches on the days I'm in uni. Other than that I usually spend about £20, mostly on manga. I'm limited to £65 a week if I want to have enough to last me until the next loan payment, but I don't usually spend anywhere near that amount.

My loan doesn't even cover my accommodation :/ so I'm living off a part time job.

    That's a LOT for someone who's catered.

I am entirely self-catered and I don't spend that much at all. So far I've probably been averaging about £45-50 a week (if that - that's a rough guess) excluding accommodation and phone bills.
I probably spend about £15 on food a week, £10 - 15 on 'socialising', so alcohol/coffee etc), £5 on various week-by-week necessities (transport / laundry / society fees / gym induction session etc), £5 - 10 on books, photocopying, printing, £5 on clothes (it balances out, not a fiver every week but maybe £15 every 3 weeks). Maybe some other stuff I can't remember.

well, I'm non catered. So, without rent, I'm spending around 40 quid a week at most. That's not including books for my course but it is including my phone.

I reckon I'm spending about 100+ per week atm, living in London, self catered etc. Bit too much for my liking....
