Told to put my calculator in exams mode for A level maths exam

So last Tuesday was A level maths edexcel paper 1, I take my exams in a separate room due to reasons, and so I have my own invigilator. What happened was, before the paper began, he told me to put my Casio Classwizz calculator in exams mode. As of writing this now, I now understand that this model of calculator doesn't have exam mode as it is a standard digital calculator, but at the time I didn't know, so I had to leave the exam room with the invigilator to find a maths teacher to explain it to him.

This was all really scary to experience, at the end he apologised and I got my full time and everything, but I'm concerned this may happen again for my other papers. Does anyone know what I should do? If they ask again, I plan to tell them that exams mode is for the graphing calculators, and mine is compliant with the exam board, but what if they think i'm lying, or what if they remain adamant that my calculator needs to be put in exams mode.

hey, could you get your teacher to make a note, or something? I'm not actually sure what to do in this situation, I've never thought it would happen, bc I assume ppl would know.
Sorry, this isn't really much help.

The Casio graphical calculator FX-CG50 does require exam mode but the FX-991EX Classwiz does not.

You’re not actually require to put the cg50 in exam mode for a level, it’s only intended for international bachelor’s exam
