Forgot about this thread, his money came a week later and he paid me the lot, so happy days. Thanks all and apologies for my unintended ignorance.
My dad's always 'borrowing' money from me! In the past two years I've lent him around £1200... except a couple of months down the line I'll ask when he's going to give it back, and he'll say 'Oh... about that - What I was thinking was we could call it housekeeping.'

Although I don't really mind (After all, he does pay the mortgage on my home, and has done for the last 21 years - as well as all the bills, not mentioning all the lifts I've had off him over he years) I'm not lending him any more...!

If you need the money then ask for it. If you don't then leave it be. In the future, the tables might be turned and you might have to get some long term non-interest bearing loan from you Dad. It's building up your karma points :smile:
