Is your ug or master study related to biology or medicine?
How is your ug school ranked, is it around 50 or higher?
My gpa is bad in ug but get a ok one in master, and don't have a medicine bg, get research exp in master study.

i m from g5 and i know there were ppl from g5 getting in without bio background (ofc they got decent gpa)
i also know someone was rejected last year - he got 2:1 from hku biomed + hku med mphil
the reputation of ur ug school is very important imo

I think they are typically looking for first class honours when sending out interview invitations, that's why the candidate you knew got rejected with a 2:1. But who knows, maybe they look down on their home grown students ;S

as far as i know some g5 ppl with 2:1 were invited to the interview (but didn't get the offer), and some g5 ppl got in with 2:1 in ug but masters distinction. gpa and school reputation are equally important - wouldn't say it is unfair tho bc ppl do pay a lot to study abroad hahah

If you are abroad, you can send an email to explain and ask for a distance interview. Someone in 2022 post said he made it.

not this year ig, i emailed hku after receiving the invitation and they said the interview must be conducted in-person. either this round or next round lol

Hey guys, I had my CUHK early interview on the 20th and HKU early interview on the 21st. I just received my CUHK conditional offer (con 43) with conditional scholarships. Applied as non-jupas local (IB, HK citizen). Feel free to ask me any questions
