I mean , Lloyds is slow , hsbc are slow ect , but at least they reply to emails , Barclays is very bad

Banking/finance recruitment is well known to be directly related to revenue & deals, this past year has been very slow… everyones in industry has been talking about the below average bonuses this year.

At least the consulting firms & divisions are having a lot of growth and many more grad jobs this year.

I emailed the recruitment team at the end of last week regarding my application as it’s been crickets recently. Just got this generic reply:

‘Currently, the recruiters are reviewing all the assessments and once done, they will undergo a selection process and notify those who will get shortlisted and move to the Final Stage. For the meantime, please make sure to keep your lines open and check your email regularly.’

Looks like it’ll be a while before I hear back. Just wish they would come out and tell me the application was unsuccessful instead of keeping folk hanging.

I think that’s their generic response to everyone

Did you get a verbal offer?
I got a call for the offer but haven’t received the contract or anything yet

Same I was told the contract would be emailed in a week but it’s still not been

I got a verbal offer but have not heard anything since (over 2 weeks). It's as if I wasn't even offered the job. Just an email saying "We've offered you the role and will be in touch in X weeks to get the process started" would do the trick. I even called yesterday (and paid £2.50 for the privilege) just to be told a different department deals with it. Such a bad reflection of them as a company, especially one that wants to recruit the best graduates. I think I'll be looking at different schemes.

I called my recruiter today and he said he’ll look into for me as we should’ve done the ID checks. I’m still interviewing elsewhere but 45k is too good to pass up

This is what I don’t get, by taking so long people they’ve sent offers to will still be interviewing at others places and I imagine Barclays lose a fair few people to it.

I'm not looking at anywhere else bc I love the job, location and pay but I just hope I don’t regret it

I have two other offers and this delay has put me off Barclays completely. If they take this long to get you into the company then I can only imagine the kind of difficulties you might have once you get in. Best of luck with it but I'm not sure the hassle is worth the pay.

yes, but after mailing them 4 times and told that lady I'm getting the same reply. Then she connected me with recruiting manager from Barclays and she told me the same just in different words.

don't know what they are doing.

I emailed them as well and got the same reply. So, I think they are sending a generic email to everyone :frown:

Hey everyone. I got through to the final interview stage of the compliance graduate explorer program however I haven't heard back from Barclays and it has been around 4 or 5 weeks now. I was wondering whether anybody can give me any insight as to what this means for me. Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated.

Hey I’m in the same boat and honestly it just feels like a waiting game. Have you tried to contact your recruiter ?

I have been invited to an assessment centre next Tuesday for the position of Marketing Analyst - Explorer Graduate Programme - 2023. Has anyone applied for the same role? It is my first time attending an assessment centre, and I am unsure what to expect.

Ps: Mine will be virtual

Hey there,I recently attended the compliance analyst assessment centre which was also virtual. For me, the day started at 9:30 am with an introduction in the morning. You don’t really get to speak to anyone else it’s a very quick introduction. For us, they divided us into two groups one in the morning and the other in the evening. For the morning people, they went straight into an interview and then followed with around half an hour to 45 minutes of reading through a case study. following that they were then asked to sit through a role-play in which the interviewer asks you questions in an immersive style. The other group did the same in the evening. I hope this helps.

I got a call from a lady offering me the position I did AC for more than a month ago hahaha. I might have to reconsider... however Im not sure how long it will take them to send it by email. Does anyone know? I wouldn't want to end up not signing PwC and then get dumped by Barclays last minute. Btw is the 5k bonus she mentioned a real thing?

Sign pwc. If Barclays does eventually get a contact to you then decide and notify pwc if you wanna go Barclays.
