I've been awake since 5am. Couldn't sleep but too exhausted to work so I still haven't finished with the books that were on overnight loan and need to be back in just over an hour.
And I'm handing out KPMG stuff today around lunchtime, if you see me please come and say hello!
I have applied for a Trinity double for you. Fingers crossed we get it. x

    ARRRGH.

Realised during my Materials lecture that I had a lab report to write before tomorrow morning. that woke me up (literally). Worse it's on the long lab that I really didn't understand, on curvature of loaded beams. As always, the demonstrator had a strong accent that was difficult to decipher. I have since not thought about it. Now 2 weeks later I have to write a detailed report when exhausted and grumpy.

Right. Done one third of my complex analysis work and I'm afraid that's all my supervisor is getting off me. Don't know why I've been so disorganised with work this week...

    Halfway hall tonight! :woo:

    No, its Deloitte! Eeeewwww!!!
Have just discovered that the Whipple library is amazing! Much less noisy than SPS. And have also just heard that people can get into Kings college library using University cards

Can someone remind me a) how long its open till (3, right?) and b) how to get into Kings after they close all the obvious entrances? It would be a lifesaver if I could go work there in the evenings till 2/3!

Friend from Magdalene told me that she gets in using hers today. And the site seems to confirm it: http://www.kings.cam.ac.uk/library/AccessAndMaps.html

What do you think, visesh? And how do I get onto the grounds after they shut up the main entrances? :flutter:

You need to find a friendly Kingsperson.

The front gate is usually open until about 10:30p,m but all the other gates close at around 6-7:00pm.

And is your Magdalene friend sure? It says university card on the site because w've just changed over from having a separate library card. There were times this year when even King's people couldn't get in with uni cards.

I'll ask her how recently she tried. Thanks for the heads up.
That's a bit useless for me - I can't disturb a person at 3am to let me out of their college! *despairs*

I'd be a bit pissed off if I was a King's student wanting to use the library and a whole bunch of people from other colleges were in there......are you sure they let anyone with a uni card in?

Yes, but I know for a fact that:
    a) loads of people I know join their friends in large automatic access libraries anyway, so one extra isn't going to make a huge difference
    b) I need to do this at precisely the time when very few other people will be using it. Eg post midnight.

Personally, a student from another college working in the Ward is likely to annoy me less than members of my own college who go there and make a huge disturbance by socialising instead of working!
