How does grading from the US work with the UK system

As an American I didn't an UK exams for university, and I wanted to know how it would work for my case?
If you look on each Uni website there will be info for applicants from the US.
Bristol as one example -- https://www.bristol.ac.uk/international/countries/usa.html
If it isnt clear just email the Uni and ask.
