I get the maximum maintenance loan alongside tuition fees, and I'm going to medical school for 6 years. It's doing my head in thinking about how much crippling debt I will be in as a doctor, and will probably have to live with the rents for the rest of my life!

Have you calculated how much you'll actually be paying from your salary each month? It's not a conventiial 'debt'.

interest rates are going up now year on year so its hard to predict the actual payments upon graduation. Still, try to use student loans calculators. for monthly payments
