My exam board is ifs,it is a different one I think...
You might never heard about this before, hence why I do worry whether unis take this as UCAS points or not.

Some people say it does,in fact most of people say they do,but the exams are multiple choices, and most of them are pretty much commonsense just like general studies etc,its in my enrichment activities,I hope they accept Finance, because I started for quite a while.

    Any comments?

I do. If you mean CeFs and DipFS. I'm in the middle of doing DipFS. Some uni's take it, some don't. Email the ones you want to apply for and ask if they take it. :]

I do it too, I'm doing Cefs and the moment and i want to do Dipfs next year. I'm making sure that Finance isn't one of my main three AS/A Levels by continuing all four next year. I could drop Finance and this would solve the problem but i like it so much that I'd like to continue with it!! I think its a great course!
I had Unit 3 this morning two, my arm nearly fell off, there was that much to write.
What marks did you guys get in units 1 and 2?

    21/25 in unit I
    27/35 in unit II
The grade boundaries are really low though!
So to get the usual ~65/100 for an A, i only now need ~17/40
    Really confident i got that!

    How did you yourself do?

Hehe wow, you're really good at it!

    I got 21 (25), 27 (35), 20 (40), giving 68 overall.
I think that will still be an A, but can't be too sure!

    Really very well done

I got 42, 26 and 20 so 67 overall which may or may not be an A. I think 65 is an A normally so fingers crossed.

I only done it 'cause it was an extra qualification my school were offering. The course was sooo boring and we just mucked around in the lessons playing games on the computer lol. I don't think i read my folder once except 20min before the exam started, it was just common sense tbh. It wasnt important in my uni application anyway.
We were made to do re-sits as well regardless of our grade and im glad otherwise i would be on 64, and if im right in saying 65 is an A id be well pissed.

But yeah i have a finance qualification now so its all good.

You got pretty much the same results as me!

Yeah - we all have the qualification now!
But, can we actually put "CeFS" on the end of our names legally?
Our teacher seems to think we probably can, but can't say for definite.

Oh yeah we have pretty much exactly the same scores. Hopefully its an A.

:/ Thats the first I've heard of that. By the same token we can put GCSE and GCE as well. lol.

You may be right, I have no idea but its not listed here

Thanks for that; I wonder how we can find out for definite though ...
I'd love to be able to put that on the end of my name when applying for Uni!

I'm sure it'll be an A ... but watch it be 69% for an A for this year, just to annoy us/stab us in the back!

Sorry to hear you're having to re-take.
I got exactly 50% in this unit: they mark really really harshly.

The advice given to me was to use material from the case study to back up every point you make, then explain how it's relevant to the point you're trying to get across.
Though it's up to you whether you want to accept that advice, given that this would appear only to get you to the half-way mark: I tried my very best on this exam too (apart from question [a] which I missed out)!

    Heyy, no probs

I guess it sounds a bit weird, saying thanks to ... well, yeah!
The 'placenta' bit is meant to mean "cake" (it's Latin).
Hehe, hope you're slightly less weirded-out now! :P

When you making reference to case studies,do you mention a lot of figures etc?
So hard to get high marks tbh!

Yeahh, they love that, apparently! :woo:

Even if it's something really simple like the case study mentions there's £1 mandatory expenditure and £4 discretionary, and you "calculate" that there's £5 total expenditure!

One other really really important thing is the conclusion: I spent ages on the question [d] in the exam and then completely ballsed up the conclusion because it didn't explicitly state a particular account Geraint should go for.
They key word in the mark schemes is "explicit" for conclusions, mm-hmm.

    Hope this helps!
