Any advice
Having at least a draft of your PS before you go back to school is a good idea, it then leaves you lots of time to ask teachers to read it so you can make any changes. Also try to get some work experience, volunteering or a job (you'll have more success for a summer job in small independent shops + pubs rather than big chains and supermarkets).

Start reading around your subject. Find some topics that interest you, and have a look for books written about them. Which subject are you thinking of doing?

If you are applying for any courses with admissions tests, it is a good idea to start preparing over the holiday.

Book onto open days for courses and universities that interest you. Maybe go and visit them over the summer?

Towards the end of the summer, you will want to have a solid first draft of your personal statement done, or at least a comprehensive plan. Then when Y13 starts, you can start the editing and polishing process with your teachers.

You might want to also look over any tricky topics that you did in year 12. But apart from that, relax and enjoy the summer.
