Yeah, I am assuming the same from the situation of the MPhil Genomic Medicine cohort. Everyone who posted here is under department review for months and funding is probably unlikely at this stage.
Even though I am still waiting for a proper rejection or an interview invitation, it is a bummer to be discarded from funding due to the lack of processing speed (I guess it is safe to say that this is beyond what we could expect from an overwhelmed staff full of things to do).
All in all, I decided to wait and see what feedback there is to me even if it arrives several weeks later from now.

Unfortunately, I don’t think it was lack of speed. The department would have a very small cohort if they didn’t nominate anyone for funding. Most likely, some people received offers earlier and were nominated for funding and everyone else has to sit around and wait for them to finish decisions. This has happened before, I can think that it’s happened to English a few times.

Of course, nothing is a certainty and stranger things have happened. And if it has been over 12 weeks an email to the department is appropriate.

I would be very sad if this happened, because I applied before Christmas (14 weeks ago). I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago. They said 'I was still being considered for admission' (ipsis litteris). What keeps me at ease is that I was accepted to almost every course I applied to. I have where to go and all of them have at least one funding opportunity for my profile. Even so, one more funding chance is always valuable.
Thanks, Ethelreda! I guess I will wait for next week to bother them again. I read 'pages ago' that someone tried to rush an application a got quickly rejected.

14 weeks is a long time. My thoughts are with you and I hope you receive the outcome that you hope for. All the best.

Do you think we are missing out on other college-specific funding opportunities because our applications haven't been sent to any other colleges yet? Are college-specific studentships already being given out??

Also, how do you know that Trinity has not accepted anyone from your course? Where did you find such statistics?

I honestly don't know- I don't think that college-specific studentships have come out yet but I also have no idea when the begin to consider the applications- maybe someone else can shed light on the subject
I just found the stats online- whatdotheyknow.com has loads of stats and everything and I just looked out of curiosity.

I see.

Are you in the running for college scholarships?

Nope, missed their deadlines, as my college membership is still seeking

I just got rejected by my top two college preferences. Does anyone know the usual college I will get pooled at?

If I may ask, what were your choices? I'm still waiting for mine

Hopefully we get to hear back about the other scholarships we are in for either today or next week!

So, in total what are you waiting to hear back about?

Hmm...I'm not entirely sure how many places are generally put out for PhD students with the Trust, but something tells me its in the hundreds.

I believe I'm in the running for Harding, Trust, UKRI and college funding at the moment...if some of those decisions have already been made, I do not know, but I hope not haha

Just been offered a studentship at Trinity on the condition of leaving my current college...?!

Thanks! It's put me in quite a bit of pickle - I really love my current college and would be gutted to leave, but the Trinity scholarship offers 3.5 years of funding rather than the 3 years offered by Cambridge Trust.

Any advice from the knowledgable folks of this thread would be much appreciated !!
