long story short, I've been on the bronze for over a year and haven't started anything as i actually don't want to do it, should i just quit- and how do i do that?

If you don't enjoy it (which I'm assuming you don't by the OP) and you don't think it will be of any value, I'd quit. You should speak to your DofE leader about quitting
