I don't like admitting it openly because I don't really want the attention that It'd give me haha

I guess there could be others like that

It's also because you're in school. Once you enter university you will find that most people will start to open up about their interest as they're more comfortable in themselves. This is also something that's more apparent in the UK than Japan itself, due to the understanding, accessibility and exposure of anime.

Some of the best films and television series released in the west have been directly inspired by anime. Of course, nobody knows this. Or that Kanye West's music video for Stronger was also inspired by an anime series, or that many fashion designers and clothing ranges have been inspired by japanese culture, that is, by extension, inspired by anime as well. It's a shame that there is this general ignorance (more so in the UK than the US) of what anime actually is.

Glad to see you here, Loo. If you can't express your interest at school, feel free to here. :yep:

I have to say, maybe these new feature film releases (Dragon Ball, Astro Boy and Battle Angel) will make people realize that anime is more than Pokemon or porn.

Did anyone see what this guy put in the 'The Greatest Wtf Moments in the History of Cinema' thread?
    Do you disagree

Well, maybe not all of it. The motorcycle chase is pretty straightforward. But everything past the point where Tetsuo is taken to the hospital is pretty 'wtf' in my opinion. Which isn't to say I don't understand it. Just that it's ******* weird.

Admittedly the film tried to condense the story into a few hours, so everything was rushed. Too bad.

And they probably think Spirited Away was just another Disney film.

Yeha I know, Akira himself is barely in it and no Great Tokyo Empire or anything, they film pretty much stops half way through the story.

    Nevermind, it's still awesome.
