    Wait... so the two 25 year olds of this society love anime made for young boys? :p:
    Limewire Caraniel, I'm disgraced. :nah::giggle:
    It's just a generic/conventional term for categorization. Arguably some of the series that fall under this genre could equally be part of seinen. But like all categorizations, the initial usage of the term has fallen to bits. It's no longer just a category for series like Bleach but for series like Death Note too.

    My brother once used Limewire. Within a matter of days he had ~1000 viruses or something. :p: Didn't help that his computer was completely unprotected, no matter how many times I tell my siblings to download AVG...

    The Bookman clan remains a mystery and their intentions unclear. I understand that they need to be observers but surely being actively involved will inevitably bring complications to this oath? Lavi cannot control the environment nor the enemies he'd face. It seemed unfair and totally contradictory to expect a Bookman to be impersonal whilst being personal. Furthermore, I wonder whether the Black Order are in cahoots with this Bookman clan? I suspect so. Also, there has been Bookman (or at least implied) on the Noah side too.

    The manga is awesome. Admittedly I picked it up because there's very few mangaka that are female and Katsura Hoshino is one of them. Oh how I'd love to be in her position. I still dream of finishing my own manga one day. I'm illustrating it slowly.
    The manga is indeed awesome :yep: I was attracted by the extremely detailed artwork and the interesting premise after I stumbled upon the 1st volume online.

    I can only assume Hoshino has all the background story for the Bookman clan, Noah and Black Order worked out somewhere and will slot it in as appropriate. I hope :p:

    You're an aspiriing manga-ka then Aiko :w00t:

    I have an inate preference for shounen anime, but tend to read more shoujo/seinen manga. The action which is an integral part of the shounen genre is better animated, even if the plot is better explored in the manga :p:

    I hope she'll shed some light on the Bookman, I'm genuinely curious. :p: I'm also a fellow Lavi fangirl. :hugs: I do like Allen, he is an adorable main character and is unusual for an anime like this. Ultimately, though, Tyki is my favorite wet dream. :eek:

    I've always aspired to be a manga artist and even went to a few conventions. I suck at illustrating from perspective, though. I also considered being an animator (something my friends pursued, some failed, some succeeded and one is working for Kyoto Animation, so I bow down to his greatness now. :p:) - Maybe one day I'll attempt to finish it, it's very Kino's Journey, though. :laughing:

    Seinen (青年, Seinen?) is a subset of manga that is generally targeted at an 18–30 year old male audience, but the audience can be much older with some comics aimed at businessmen well into their 40s. It has a wide variety of art styles and more variation in subject matter, ranging from the avant-garde to the pornographic. The female equivalent to seinen manga is josei manga. In Japanese, the word Seinen means "young man" or "young men", and it is not indicative of sexual matter. Examples include Berserk, 3×3 Eyes, Hellsing, Chobits, Tenjho Tenge, Elfen Lied, Oh My Goddess!, Trigun Maximum, Rozen Maiden, xxxHolic, Vagabond (manga), Sekirei and Zero no Tsukaima.

    Lavi is easily my favourite DGM character, also like Kanda even if he's a bit on the girly side :p: But I agree that Tyki is :coma: worthy! Allen is quite a decent protagonist, definately unusual for the genre where the young male protagonist is usually extremely annoying or stupid :laugh:

    EDIT: Night Yuuki! Like your A-P sig :yep:

    But you see, those examples could equally be part of shojo/josei as well like Oh My Goddess! or xxxHolic. I'd say Hellsing and easily Tenjho Tenge could fall under shōnen. They're interlinking because recent anime, particularly in the 21st century, has become a lot more liberal and varied, cross referencing many different genres. "Back in the day", notably in the 80s/early 90s, anime was far more distinct in its genres.

    Edit: Goodnight AJ, Yuuki, Mccann. :wavey: Sleep well.
