I dont think you should use Goldman as the benchmark for the BB FO salaries.

They tend to (well up until last year to the best of my knowledge) pay very well, higher than that of the majority of other BB's.

ok, well sayin on average - whats the usual difference between a usual BB salary and a tier two salary at FO? would a M&A at ABN for eg. be better off than MO at BB?

You'd be surprised just how many of the so called '2nd-tier banks' are offering market leading salaries these days.

I think (but not at all certain) for interns Nomura are offering 32k, whereas say a 'better' bank would offer 3-10k more. Excluding relocation allowances.

It depends if ABN are paying at RBS rates. It's normally fairly in line, but really depends on the Bank. You can't just say that all tier 2s pay more, because it's not always the case. For example, pre crisis we would say that BarCap was edging on tier 2 status, but it paid vastly more than the oter Banks (BBs and tier 2s) in terms of grad and intern pay.
