Reported for Malpractice-Cambridge IGCSE

Hello all. Concerned parent here from Dubai. My son sat his Cambridge IGCSE's during May/June of this year. He was unfortunately caught having absent-mindedly left his Mobile Phone in his pocket. The examiner was satisfied that it was an accident and he had no intention of cheating and let him finish the exam, but obviously still had to report it to the Board. It's now been over 2 months and the results are due in less than a month. The school says they haven't heard back from the Board, and me and my wife (and my son obviously) are getting quite anxious. Does anyone have any idea about when exactly the Board gets back with their decision in such cases? Do they usually wait this long and then drop a bomb on the day of the results? Am starting to have sleepless nights thinking about what this stupid mistake could cost him.

I have no experience of malpractice in international qualifications but in the UK the likely outcome would be that your son gets 0 for that paper (but there are no wider consequences) and you would normally hear that before results day - probably before the end of July.
