I decided to go for a Remmington Titanium cos the foil is the thing that usually goes, and this is made of stronger stuff.

Also I've tried Philipps & Braun.

IO can say it's quieter, and I wandered into Boots to find 2 of them in a clearance sale - down from £49.99 to £22.45.

There endeth the thread . . . unless anyone has anything to add?

I got a really nice phillishave for 50 pounds off amazon, retails elsewhere for 75. It is the hq8150. It's nice, has a quality feel and does shave fairly close for me, but depends on the stubble. Using a cut-throat was closer, but then again, I nearly had to go to hosiptal using those.

    I bought this yesterday.
It is quiet, does the job and doesn't have frail foils.
