    Notation problem - can someone please explain what the giant X is please in set notation. Just name it so I can look it up or feel free to describe what it does/mean. Rep for really useful answers

    I would think that is the Cartesian product of all the U(S,pi) where S is in pi, but again not really knowing the context.

    So to check
    Say there are five S's in Pi then

    U(S1) * U(S2) * U(S3) * U(S4) * U(S5) = U (Pi)

    Is this what it is saying then?
    This is a strange result from the theory, I would of expected a summation.
