    Two pendulums are suspended side by side from two fixed supports in the same horizontal plane. They are displaced by equal amounts and released simultanousdly so that they oscillate, intially in phase with each other in two parellel vertical planes, If two pendulums differ in length by a small amount describe there relative motions when viewd in a direction perpendicular to ther vertical planes in which they oscillsate.

    Part b if the lengths of pendulums are 0.49 and 0.34 calculaste the number of oscillations made by each pendulum between sucessive times when they are in pahse. Explain your method of calculation.

    beat frequency = difference in frequencies

    beat f = how often they are in phase.

    1 over this tells the time between which they are in phase.

    can you explain this a bit better pls im not quite sure, bascially ive worked out the period of each one then worked out the difference and diivided the longer period by the difference to get 7 oscillations of the longer period before it is in pahse with the shorter pendulumn.
