Love this guys voice, especially when he lets rip, I like the deepness (almost croacky/gritty) of it, and the fact that he can hit the high nots.

    My fave vocal songs are:

    Say Hello to Heaven
    Wide Awake
    Shadow on The Sun

    +

    Like a Stone
    I am A Highway

Sadly, he doesn't actually seem to be that good live, certainly not from what videos I have seen

Question is, what other songs does he really really let rip in with screams and soem high notes?

Also, anyone recommend other singers with similar voices who also have a decent range?

he reminds me a bit of john frusciante's solo stuff (although he can be a bit hit and miss sometimes)

Listen to Slaves and Bulldozers from 'Badmotorfinger' by Soundgarden. Apparently, it's the song Rick Rubin played to Tom Morello and co. to persuade them that they should take Chris Cornell as their new vocalist.

EDIT: Not you, specifically. I meant the OP.

Sadly his new stuff is ****. I liked him in Soundgarden, his first solo album, and some of Audioslave. Temple of the Dog wasn't bad either.. The acoustic version of Just Like Suicide is probably my favourite song ever. but I hear he'll be collaborating with Timbaland on his next album, and that he wants to move into a more- RnB oriented direction. We'll see how this turns out.

I saw audioslave live a few years ago, and he's pretty good live. Best bit was him singing black hole sun acoustically, although he should NEVER have tried to cover rage.

Good old Chris Cornell I LOVE 'You Know My Name' - it's the best Bond song ever, knocks rubbish like Madonna out of the water!

He also does a really interesting cover of 'Billie Jean' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2MgwAJrfXo. He makes it so different to the original - though Mickey J's is undeniably fabulous.

From Soundgarden's stuff, 'Black Hole Sun' is awesome...as for Audioslave, it's all about 'Like A Stone' and 'Cochise.'
