    Thats assuming you're getting 10mbit, where as in fact the actual wording is 'up to 10mbit'. This is especially true as VM are bandwidth starved right now.

    Keeping it at 5kb/s is no doubt the safest option.

    Virgin Media broadband (cable) IS 10mbit. It is adsl that is said to be "up to". If you are getting less than that then there is a problem somewhere.
