What is working for the home office actually like?
I wouldn’t even know what to feel if I waited this long to be unsuccessful or I am successful and I end up not liking the job 😭

I think this campaign was of a smaller size. Oh well that's still better than nothing, I got on the reserve list for another position in the Home Office and after a few months they offered me a position. It does mean the extra wait though... But it can be an opportunity to see if anything you prefer pops up.. But ya the waiting, always the waiting .. starting to understand that's how it works with the Civil Service.

Tbh I actually really love it! Should have done it years ago! I’ve got 2 little boys 5 and 3 and they are so good with being flexible and the fact I can hybrid work helps too! X

I’m only applying for other jobs as I was brought in agency and then given a fixed term appointment for 12 months because it’s a pilot I’m working on it should be finished end of the year so god knows what I’m going to do lol

I don't know if this is correct but from what I've heard, once you have your foot in the door, it becomes easier to secure a job in the Civil service..

Hmm because im FTA im not sure… im hoping they just move me to another part which isn’t a pilot but we work amongst them. Then make me perm hahahaha but tbh this job sounds interesting!

Ya.. Nothing like the insecurity of being Fixed term.. Yes it does sound interesting! And seem like it could have a good career progression too. Personally though, I completely messed up my interview, so I don't hold overly high hopes.. How did you find it?
